Don’t let Covid-19 stop you from interacting with small business owners. Join the Conversation.
As Covid-19 continues to put distance between customers and small businesses across the country, The Odd Lot Foundation (501c3) who operates The Odd Market in Los Angeles, CA, has created a new series aimed at connecting shoppers with small businesses. Introducing the Meet The Makers series. A virtual series produced by husband and wife duo, Phillip, and Shelly Dane.
For more than 30 years, the Dane’s have been creating family-centric events with the main focus on “supporting independent crafters” and now they are raising the bar with their recently released, GO Live On-Demand platform and Meet the Makers series which is live-cast to Youtube and Facebook. The series will then be uploaded to vintageland.la so people can view episodes at any time.
“Shelly and I started the Meet The Makers when we operated the now closed, Handcrafted LA boutique in Downtown Los Angeles before the pandemic. When word came down that events were to be avoided, we decided to take the Meet the Makers virtual” says Phillip Dane. Beginning Friday, August 14th, Meet the Makers will air live at 7 PM PST on both YouTube and FaceBook and Episode #1 will feature the owners of Blooming Amethyst, a Los Angeles based, all-natural skincare company. Each week a new Maker who sells products on the Odd Market website will be featured in a 30 minute intimate Q & A where people can join in the conversation. Currently, there are more than 2800 “Makers” registered on The Odd Market site, vintageland.la.
The Dane’s are committed to keeping the connection alive as more and more events close, open, and then close again causing a massive disconnect in not only the event world but in small businesses across the country. Meet the Makers will take consumers into the homes of these local businesses each week. “We want to know what makes these small businesses thrive. Where did they start from and what is their mission”, says Phillip Dane.
Meet the Makers will air live on Facebook and YouTube every Friday at 7 PM PST. For more information visit, vintageland.la
